  • Booth Planned to Kidnap Lincoln

    Booth and his henchman planned to attack Lincoln's carriage at gunpoint when road home to the Executive Mansion. They were going to hold him hostage, however, the information was incorrect and Lincoln was actually giving a speech.

  • At 8:00 p.m., Booth Planned to Kill Lincoln, Johnson, and Seward

    Booth gathered George Atzerodt and Lewis Powell to tell them about his plan to kill President Lincoln, Vise President Jonson, and Secretary of State Seward. Atzerodt would kill Johnson while Powell kills Seward and Booth kills Lincoln.
  • At 8:30 p.m., Lincoln arrived at the theater.

  • At 9:00 p.m. Booth entered Ford's Theater.

  • At 10:00 p.m., Booth went to Star Saloon and went back to the theater.

    When Booth came back to the theater, he made his way to the president's box. He saw that the door was unguarded and he made his way inside.
  • At 10:13 p.m., Booth shot Lincoln in the back of his head.

  • Around 10:13, Booth made his get away.

    After shooting Lincoln, he jumped to the stage and made his way outside. He got on his horse and attempted to gallop away, but Stewart tried to catch him. Booth ended up making it out.
