    John Polkinghorne was known for multiple achievements in the area of elementary particle theory. One major contribution was the S-matrix in quantum physics theory.   • The way the world is (1983)

    In 1983, John Polkinghorne published a book called The Way the World Is. A book on the relationship of religion and science which he states that scientific believers and thinkers can still be christian.

  • Society of Ordained Scientists

    John Polkinghorne was a brilliant scientist and physicist. His works were massively influential for string theory. Although he resigned from being a professor and studied to become an ordained priest in the Angelical Church. In 1986 he helped found the Society of Ordained Scientists. His philosophy on how any science thinker can still be christian is incredible.

  • The Templeton Prize

    In 2002, John Polkinghorne was awarded the Templeton Prize for his multiple books and works on theology and science.
