Pluralistic Model of Science
John Dupre was known for his views on the pluralistic model of science in opposition to reductionism. John Dupre believed that not all science could be reduced to a simpler science. Reduction science believed that each set of science could be explained by another smaller for of science. Dupre's belief that it was more complex than just having another science explain it. -

While John Dupre covered many aspects of philosophy in science ranging from general philosophy of science to social science his main work was on the philosophy in biology. Many of the aspect that aspects of biology that John Dupre criticizes is studies like sociobiology and evolutionary psychology. -

John Dupre is currently a professor of philosophy of science at University of Exeter and the Director of Egenis, the centre for the study of Life Sciences. He was also recently elected the President of the Philosophy of Science Association. -
