John Dewey's pivotal event
According to Wikipedia and a website called Britannica, in 1925, John Dewey promoted his own version of "pragmatism" which he called "instrumentalism". I understand that "instrumentalism" means knowledge is intertwined between personal experiences and past events, and ideas are instruments for human to make greater sense of the world. Ideas also predict future events and results. An easy example would be you have an idea of a cup sleeve, and the result is hot beverage can be held comfortably.
