    Indigenous Australians were Able to Vote
    In 1901 the Commonwealth Government of ACT restricted aboriginal citizens from voting. It wasn’t until 1962 when Menzies government allowed all aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders to vote. Before 1901 they only allowed some people to vote such as some men over 21, this also included aboriginal men (most likely wealthy men). Before in 1895 Southern Australia they allowed English women to vote and this stayed a law through all of this

    In 1971 Harold Thomas designed the official Aboriginal flag, the flag was originally for the land rights moment but then it became a symbol of the Aboriginal culture and people. As most people know the flags symbols means something, the black is meant to represent the Aboriganal people, the yellow circle in the middle is meant to be a representation of the sun, and finally the red, the red represents the dirt and the orche that they used in ceremonies.
