Hanseong captured by the Japanese
The First and Second division of Japanese army captured Hanseong, the capital of Korea. It has been only 20 days since the invasion began. Capture of Pyongyang
Pyongyang is located behind the Taedong River and Korean defenders assured that no boats were available for Japanese to cross the river. However, Japanese observed how koreans crossed the river. The Japanese crossed the river next day and found the city of Pyongyang deserted. Battle of Hansando
Korean naval general, Yi sun shin, with 53 ships lured 63 Japanese vessels and surrounded them in a semi circular formation called "crane wing". The Emperor of Ming dispatched 40,000 men led by Li Rusong and Song YingChang to reinforce Koreans.

Negotiations and truce between China and Japan
China and Japan began negotiating truce in August of 1593. However, it was a failure and hostilities resumed in Early 1597

Battle of Chilcheollyang
Yi sun-sin was demoted and jailed and replaced by Won Gyun, even though he played crucial part in defending against the Japanese due to in fighing within the Korean court. At Battle of Chilcheollyang, Won Gyun and entire Korean Navy were destoryed. Only 13 ships survived. These ships that were left in entire Korean Navy.

Battle of Myeongnyang
After the debacle in Chilcheollyang, Yi Sun-sin was immediately reinstated. When he returned to the front line, he found out that Korean navy was reduced to 13 ships and about 200 men from the battle of Chilcheollyang. Yi Sun-shin encountered 133 Japanese warships, wth 200 logistical ships in support. The battle resulted in Korea victory. Battle of Noryang Point
After the death of Hideyoshi Japanese forces were retreating back to Japan but Korean and Chinese alliance ambushed retreating Japanese. Over half Japanese fleets sunk but Konishi Yukinaga escaped. This battle marked the end of long 7 years of war.
