    On May 8th, 1886, John Pemberton invented the Coca-Cola. In Atlanta, 1885, alcohol was banned. So then a non-alcohol drink needed to be created. It was made by using sugar, citric acid and different essential oils from fruit.This boosted the economic growth because people wanted more and more Coca-Cola because now that alcohol was banned, they could enjoy a new drink without the banned alcohol.
  • Whitcomb L. Judson

    Whitcomb L. Judson
    In the 1890's, Whitcomb L. Judson invented the zipper. He was born on March 7, 1846 and died on December 7, 1909. He was awarded 30 patents in a sixteen-year career of inventing. There were many problems with his inventions, but eventually, he worked out all of the problems and made them work correctly. He also took his inventions to many places for advertising. This helped the economy because everyone went out to buy a zipper because they needed one.

    James Naismith
    In 1891, James Naismith invented the basketball at the YMCA in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was born on November 6, 1861 and died on November 28, 1939. This was one of his biggest inventions because it led to more inventions in the future. Later in life, he wrote the original basketball rule book. Founded the University of Kansas basketball program. Also the National Invitation Tournament and the NCAA Men's Division Basketball Championship.
  • Cotton Candy

    Cotton Candy
    In 1897, in Nashville, Tennessee, William Morrison and John C. Wharton invented cotton candy. To make the cotton candy, they melt sugar in a candy machine until it becomes liquid. Then the sugar is spun as the machine forces it through small holes that shape and cool the liquid. After it has cooled, it becomes a solid again. They had to do this because there was a demand for sugar. This helped the to inventors because it gave them more money and benefited the economy.
