    James is the oldest out of three kids. His brother Akili Roberson played football in high school and was a big sight for scouts. Akili commented about how good James was at basketball and helped motivate him. He has a sister named Arnique Jelks that doesn't say much about her.

    James went to Artesia High School in Lakewood, California. In his Sophomore year he carried the team with a 28-5 record. In his Junior year he led the team to a 33-1 season and won the California state title. During his Senior year he lead the team to a 33-2 season and was named Mcdonald's all American and earned a spot on the second team for the Parade All-American team

    James went to Arizona State for college basketball. They were considered one of the weaker teams in the Pac-10 division. His first year there they got a record of 21-13 and tied for 5th seed.

    In 2009 James was selected 3rd overall pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder. That season he scored a season high of 26 points against the Golden State Warriors. At the end of that season he was put on the All-Rookie second team.

    In 2015 and 2017 James was in a race for the MVP. He was so close in 2017 but his former teammate Russel Westbrook beat him. In 2018 James played the best out there getting triple-doubles to setting new season records for hisself. This year he is in the race again and has a high chance of winning MVP two years in a row.
