Masood Azhar is released from prison
In December 1999 Masood was released by the Indian government in exchange for passengers on the hijacked Indian Airlines Flight 814. Shortly after Masood was released he proclaimed to about 10,000 people in Karachi "I have come here because this is my duty to tell you that Muslims should not rest in peace until we have destroyed America and India." -
Jaish-e-Mohammed founded w/Goals and location
Jaish-e-Mohammed was founded by Masood Azhar in early 2000 soon after his release from prison in India. Jaish-e-Mohammed seek to overthrow Indian rule in Kashmir and unite the province with Pakistan under shari’a, or Islamic law. JeM is located in Pakistan and Kashmir. -
Commander Din is killed
Qutub Din, A top commander of JeM is killed with two other bodyguards in the Khangar hills, poonch. This fuels anger in the JeM. More violence and terroisms is influenced. -
Allies and supporters
Jaish-e-Mohammed's is supported by Hizbul Mujahideen, Al-Quaidi, and Lashkar-e-Omar.They are linked to the attacks on the on the Indian Parliament, New Delhi, and the kidnapping and death of Daniel Pearl. JeM is supported by Al-Quaida but remains focused more on war with India over Kashmir. -
Masood Azhar gets busted
Masood Azhar and 29 other outfit members are arrested by security forces from Bhawalpur. A day later, he was remanded to police custody for three months and shifted to Mianwali jail in Lahore in which he was detained for a year for carrying out deadly attacks against Indian targets, including the attack on the Indian parliament in December 2001 that brought India and Pakistan to the brink of a full-scale war. -
Enemies and Adversaries
Canada has declared Jaish-e-Mohammed as a foreign terrorist group on April 3, 2003. JeM has even openly declared war against the United States. Pakistan outlawed JeM in 2002. JeM is regarded as a terrorist organization by several countries, including India, Pakistan, United States and United Kingdom. -
Relocation
JeM shifts its offices to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) to escape a crackdown by Pakistani authorities. JeM leader Mohammed Abdullah says the outfit’s leaders would infiltrate into J&K, despite heavy Indian security. -
Murder of Daniel Pearl
A Wall Street journal reporter by the name of Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and beheaded by JeM while trying to research the links between Al-Qaidi and a bomber by the name of Richard Reid AKA the Shoe Bomber in Pakistan. while investigating Pearl was decieved, captured, tortured, and then beheaded on video. He was then murdered on february 1, 2002 9 days after he got kidnapped. Primary suspect murderer is unknown. -
Khalid Sheik Mohammed is captured
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was a leading member of al-Qaeda's propaganda operations from 1999 until 2001. In 2003 the leader, Khalid Sheik Mohammed was captured while hiding in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, by the CIA and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency of Pakistan. Under interrogation techniques Mohammed confessed to masterminding the September 11 attacks, the Richard Reid shoe bombing attempt, the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the murder of Daniel, and other attacks. -
U.S. Redesignates Jaish e-Mohammed and Lashkar e-Tayyiba
Secretary of State Colin Powell has renewed the designation of Jaish e-Mohammed and Lashkar e-Tayyiba as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.
This renewal action enables the U.S. government to deny visas to representatives of these groups, prohibits anyone subject to U.S. jurisdiction from providing them with material support, and requires U.S. financial institutions to block assets held by either entity. -
Attack on India
JeM is infamous for their continuous attacks on the Indian Parliament building New Dehli (Oct. 25, 2005) which was supported by one of their main allies Lashkmar-e-Omar, another infamous terrorist group. Alltogether the terrosit killed 62 people and injuring at least 210 others in three explosions. -
Khalid Shaikh Mohammed faces inevitable death
Khalid Shaikh Mohammed is charged with war crimes and murder by a U.S. military commission at Guantanamo Bay detention camp and faces the death penalty if convicted. In 2012, a former military prosecutor criticized the proceedings as insupportable due to confessions gained under torture. Yet, if he is convicted, which is more likely due to his confession, JeM will lose another leader. -
Mumbai attacks
In November of 2008, JeM joint attacks Mumbai, India's largest capital.The shootings started on November 26 to November 29. This joint terrorist attack with Lashkar-e-Taiba killed 173 people and wounded 308.
