Olive branch potition
The colonists sent a letter to King George asking for peace and to stop the quarrel. But before the letter reached Kind George, he had already declared that all Americans were rebels and traitors. -
Seige of Boston
When George Washington learned that the army only had 36 barrels of gunpowder he sent a deperate letter to the colonies for gunpowder. He got a lot of gunpowder, but still didn't dare to take back Boston without cannons. He sent some people to an old British fort named Ticonderoga to get some cannons. They surround Boston with cannons and the british were so shocked that they fled to Canada. -

The battle at Lexington and Concord was the first battle between the British and colonists of the seven year war to come. Till today, it is unknown who fired the first shot. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
2000 British marched on Bunker Hill. Israel Putman (Leader of American troops) told his soldiers to fire only when the british were very close. The British marched 3 times to get Bunker Hill. The colonists left because they had no gunpowder left. -

The british interted Yorktown but the americans and french were one step ahead and already surrounded yorktown. French battleships blocked the sea exit. The french and americans opened fire in october 1781. -

The Treaty of Paris is a peace treaty signed by both American and British representitive. The treaty had 3 main thnigs frist the british woudl reconise the americas as an independanted nation. secnd the british would leave America and give the americans all of there land they had owned in america. Because the south wanted to make MO a slave State and that would make the congress mostly slave and then the north could do nothing about slavery. -

That the North wanted to take away slavery for good and make all of the states free. The south are unhappy becuase that would take away there freedom. -

The southeners were upset when lincon become president because they knew that he could once and for all stop slavery for good and could make a civil war for america. -
Abraham Lincon elected
Lincon was elected president on march 4 1961. once he was elected president the southerns were sure that he was aginst slavery and was trying to stop it and this is one of the reasons that the civil war started. A little while after the war lincon was assasinated by john wylkes booth while watching a play.
