Maysville Road veto
Andrew Jackson vetoes the Maysville Road bill declaring it is unconstitutional for the government to be spending so much money. He also stated that paying for this would interfere with paying off the national debt. -
Indian Removal Act
Andrew Jackson signs the Indian Removal into law. This forces many Native American to move west of the Mississippi. -
Cherokee Nation v. Georgia
The Cherokee claim that the people of Georgia are forcefully trying to remove them from their homeland. The court rules in Georgia's favor stating that the Native Americans are not a foreign nation, and therefore cannot view the case. . -
Worcester v. Georgia
The court ruled in Worcester's favor saying that Georgia's action was unconstitutional. They also stated that the Native Americans were protected by the Constitution. -
Jackson attacks the Second U.S. Bank
Jackson vetoes the charter to the Second Bank of the United States. He believes this is unconstitutional, but the Supreme Court ruled in the Bank's favor. -
Nullification Crisis
South Carolina passes the Nullification Act threatening to secede from the Union. Jackson choses to passes the Force Bill which allows him to use military force if necessary. -

The Compromise of 1833 is passed. This compromise was drawn up by Henry Clay. -

Native Americans are forced out of their lands to west of the Mississippi River. The Choctaw are the first to voluntarily leave.
