This Canal's construction began because Americans wanted to make water transportation easier. The construction ran from 1817-1825 and this canal ran from Albany to Buffalo, New York. -
Election of 1824
This is the 6th election of the United States and four nominees John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson, William H. Crawford, and Henry Clay. John Quincy Adams won the election, however, people claimed Adams made a corrupt bargain with Henry Clay thus weakening his support. -
Election of Andrew Jackson
This is the election of 1828 and also the election where Jackson wins this time. Jackson won a total of 178 electoral votes and Adams only won 83 so Jackson is now the 7th president of the United States. -
America's first gold rush
I don't have a day or month but I have a year. This event is America's first gold rush and was discovered in Georgia at the Cherokee nation. Even though a lot of the land was under Indian control, mining quickly began and some estimate 6,000 to 10,000 miners were between the Chestatee and Etowa river. -
Cherokee Nation v. Georgia
I only have a year. This case was made possible by the removal of Indians from their homes and the Cherokee refused causing this trial. The Cherokee lost and had to move to the Indian Territory on a route called the Trail of Tears. -
The emergence of Sectionalism
I don't have a day or month but I have a year. When Jackson was elected president, the views on his policies differed on where they lived. Sectionalism also was increased by slavery since the South wanted slave states in western territory.
