  • Second National Bank

    This was a bank that was created by Hamilton this bank was made to help clear the nations debt. Though the creation was difficult because many people deemed the creation of the bank as unconstitutional.

    As other candidates wanted and passed the bill for the national ban, Jackson didn't as he opposed and disliked the idea of a second national bank as he believed it was a threat to the peoples freedom
  • Election of 1832

    In this election both candidates were running against each other Henry Clay and Andrew Jackson. This election had problems as both candidates fan bases were different between middle and high class people this was a very split election.
  • Pet Banks

    Jackson sent out his Secretary of Treasury to move the federal revenues into state banks in order to try to get rid of the National Bank.
  • The creation of the Whig Party

    This is a political party that supported the second national bank, protective tariffs, and internal improvement and they went against the beliefs of Andrew Jackson. The Whigs later ended up breaking apart.
  • Down Fall of the second National Bank

    The bank fell to the ground after the bank was not managed correctly so there was no bank anymore since there wasn't any bill that came in to keep the bank up and running.
  • Specie Circular

    This was an order placed by Jackson that made it so if you wanted to purchase land you would have to pay in either gold or silver. this order cut down the value of payer money. Because of all this the people would have to be forced to use the national bank. As a result of this event it did not go well as the economy went down due to prices skyrocketing. As a result of this event this led to another event which was the Panic of 1837.

    This election resulted in a win for Martin Van Buren, Van Buren was a democrat. He had quiet of a challenge as he went against William Henry Harrison who was a Whig.

    This was a big problem where unemployment was high and people were earning less money and prices going up. This all started over the mass production and distribution of currency.
  • Election of 1840

    As america was still trying to make its recovery from the panic of 1837 as well as the problems brought from the creation of the national bank this election continued going as Henry Harrison won the election and became president he was a part of the party of the Whigs,
