A second bank is opend
The Second Bank of the United States was chartered for 20 years. The bank was put in place again after the first bank was not renewed, because of this the states were in charge of the money. After the state was in charge the U.S. released that there was a lot of confusion and the state could not give the people a reliable currency. So the second bank was put in place to take away all of the problems. -
The Whigs
Jackson’s political opponents were in common opposition against him, the common party was called the Whigs. The Whigs came together after the election campaign of 1832. The Whigs were too divided to have a leader, then decided that Van Buren would be their leader. -
The end of deposits
Andrew Jackson ordered an end to deposits of government money into the bank, characterized as a “pet bank” by the opposition. -
