Present Roosevelt issued a executive order 9066. Which permitted milatairy to consitutuional safe guards for national deffence. 120,000 sere forced to leave homes and jobs. Some families were separated. Later Roosevelt called them consentration camps.

The Executive Order 9066 was created to justify as a mititary necessity. -
First group
The Navy informs Japanese American residents around Terminal Island in the Los Angeles harbor must leave in 48 hours, this was the first group. They were housed in barracks. And they washed, did their laundy, and ate in communal areas. The discrimination towards Japanese Americans was very predudice. The camps were overcrowded, and they provided poor living conditions. Tarpaper covered barracks with a simple frame, no plumbing or cooking factilities. -
First exclution order
First exclution order in Bainbridge Island near seattle witch inculdes 45 families given one week to prepare. -
Nisei
One Nisei was shot on this day by a gaurd named Manzanar. The gaurd claimed he shouted at Nisei, but the Nisei didn't hear due to collecting scrap lumber. He had serious injuries but he eventually recovered. -
Press Confrence
Roosevelt calls relocation camps concentration camps at his press confrence when the wra denided the term to describe the camps. -
Proclamation no. 1
Gerneral John L. Deuit created the proclamation number one, witch made military areas as in West California, Oregon, Washinton, Arizona and in number two hince that some would be exculded from number one. -
War Ends
Germany surrenders the war. -
Atomic Bomb
First atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Three days later, Nagasaki was attacked also. The war in the Pacific would end August 14, 1945 -
Tule Lake
Tule Lake closes in one month prior, five thousand internees had to move to a new camp many of witch were elderly and inpoverished or mentally ill with no place to go. They had no coal, slept under as many blankets allowed, they also had to ration food. It was about 48 cent expense for food which was served in a mess hall for about 250-300 persons.
