J Vargo's Literacy Timeline

  • Kindergarten Class

    Kindergarten Class
Kindergarten is my first memory of reading. I was placed in the rainbow rug with Mrs. Bonnet. I remember running home after my teacher read, "The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush," to our class. I was very excited to know the name of the flowers growing on the side of the road and the story behind them.
  • Reading on my own

    Reading on my own
I remember being so proud of myself for reading, "The Berenstain Bears,' all by myself. I drove my brother crazy wanting to read it to him constantly.
