When what is now Italy was divided into seperate states. An Italian King Sardinia to the north, but Austria ruled other northern states. The barbon's ruled to the south, & the pope owned anything around Rome. -
Later on..
Nationality started to grow. More & more Italians wanted to be united as one country. Nationalist efforts kept failing, but that was until Camillo di covour became prime minister of Sardinia. -
That year..
Camillo made the armies more modern, formed shrew alliances, & fought a war that drove austrian's from the north. -
Together.
Garibaldi & Cavour joined their lands together.. -
Overthrow The Government.
Giuseppe Garibaldi Gathered more than 1,000 people overthrew the government in Sicily. -
Finally United.
Italy became a united country. Ten years later Rome became it's capitol.
