LETTER
A medical officer who is with the Canadian troops wrote a letter. This medical officer Doc Buckley wrote about how he wasn't sure how the soldiers had so much courage. He mentioned how there was dreadful heat and chocking dust. Also how the soldiers had to rely on their compasses and themselves because the maps were not dependable. -
No more power
Mussolini is voted out of power by the Grand Council and also arrested after leaving a meeting he had with King Vittorio Emanuele. -
Invading
Allies invade the Italian mainland from Sicily. -
LETTER
Doc Buckley is writing a letter about details of Campbosso. The soldiers are stuck in hills so often that their nickname is ''Monty's Mountain Goats.'' Doc also states how the Germans put up a tough fight, blowing up bridges and heavily mined roads. -

The Germans depart from Ortona. Very close to 2400 Canadians wounded or killed. -

From August 25-26 British and Canadian soldiers attack urgently along the Gothic line. August 30th, Germans are pressed back. September 1st, the Canadians break through the heavily secure Gothic line. -
