Creation of Judaism
Judaism is one of the oldest religions. It began with beliefs and laws which were practiced by ancient Hebrews. In the bible, it says that Abraham is the father of all Jews. Dreyfus Affair
A man named Alfred Dreyfus, was the only Jewish member of the french army's general staff. He was accused and convicted of spying for germany. Ten years later he was found innocent and this sparked anti-Semitic riots in Paris. This was known as the Dreyfus Affair. -

Britian issued the Balfour Declaration. It stated that Britain woild work toward the establishment of a home for all Jews. Of course many Arabs did not like the idea of this but the Jewish popukation continued to grow. -

Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1933. The treatment of Jews became even worse and was spreading through Europe. Hitler's Nazi Party took away the rights of Jews. The government stated that Jews were no longer German citizens. This leaded to the Holocaust. -

After World War II and the Holocaust many world leaders joined together. They decided and voted that the Jews needed a country of their own. So they divided Palenstine into two countries. One Arab and one Jewish.
