In this battle, the Safavids were defeated by the Ottomans. The Safavids refused to use gunpowder weapons and directly attacted the Ottomans. This led to many casualties for the Safavids. They temporarily lost their capital of Tabriz. -

An emperor of the Ottoman Empire, he conquered the valley between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. Süleyman made the empire a formidable naval power. He was considered the greatest of all the emperors. -

When Tahmasp first was coronated, he was only 10 years old. Because of his young age, the empire fell into turmoil. When he became of age, however, he brought peace to the Safavid Empire. This peace lasted for 30 years, most of which was after his death. -

King Louis II of Hungary and Süleyman the Magnificent of the Ottoman Empire fought because Louis' refusal to pay tribute to the Ottomans. In response, the Turks attacked Hungary. The Hungarians are defeated, and this defeat leads to the downfall of the Hungarian monarchy. -

Shah Jahan had this monument constructed in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. She had died giving birth to Jahan's 14th child. It took 18 years to fully construct. -

Reign of Aurangzeb
The Mughal empire peaked under Aurangzeb's rule. He pushed for conquest of almost all of India, with the exception of the southern tip. Aurangzeb destroyed multiple Hindu temples and replaced them with mosques. He also placed a tax on all Hindus.
