A beautiful star was born … I was born on 1973 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. -
At Elementary School….
At Elementary School…. I went to Ana Roque de Duprey. I started taking the English class as part of the curriculum. -
Changes in life….
Changes in life…. I change to another school, Ramón Marín Elementary School in Guaynabo, P.R. I continue taking one hour of English without any changes. -
Middle School...
Middle School…I went to Juan B. Miranda School in Guaynabo. I was still taking an hour of the English class. At that time I didn’t have any motivations to learn English so I took the class because I had to. -
Time to travel….
Time to travel…. I went to Orlando Florida, for the first time to celebrate my Sweet Fifteen. -
High School…
High School… I went to Josefina Barceló High School in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. At that time I have acquired a lot of vocabulary but I wasn’t able to verbalize or communicate with others. -
University experience...
University experience…. I went to the University of Puerto Rico in Bayamón. I had to take an English class but I never had to speak or practice the years of English that I’ve taken. I could understand and write but couldn’t speak. I became receptive to the language. -
Moved to Japan...
Moved to Japan…. I got married and moved to Japan. I wasn’t able to communicate with no one. I struggled trying to communicate with people so I was forced to do it in English because I need it. -
Moved to California…
Moved to California…At that time I felt secure when I had to speak the language.I started working as an Infant an Toddler Family Educator. I had five Mexicans families and five American families. I was able to speak, write, understand and comprehend English. -
Came back to Puerto Rico…
Came back to Puerto Rico…I started working as a Kindergarten teacher and moved to work for the Head Start and Early Head Start Program. I taught basic concepts in English to preschooler’s. -
Teaching in Elementary School…
Teaching in Elementary School…I started to teach fourth to six Graders. My experience was unforgettable and enriching even though I didn’t have to speak English. -
Actually...
Actually I am working in a Pilot Bilingual Program in Urban Elementary School of Guaynabo. I am teaching math and science to first graders. At this time I am studying to get the bilingual certification at University of Sagrado Corazón which I intend to finish.
