The first Iphone
the first Iphone was released in 2007. It was the first touchscreen phone and had computer like capabilities that had never been seen before. This changed peoples lives and society at that time because something like this phone has never been seen before. -
Iphone 3G
In 2008 the Iphone 3G was released. Unlike the first Iphone, this one now had 3G support, GPS and the app store. 3G was the fastest data speed at the time. People now started to see the long term potential of the phone. -
Iphone 3GS
The Iphone 3GS was released in 2009. This update included the feature of letting people taking videos. It also started the trend of adding S at the end of the updates. S stands for speed of the video. It also had the voice control. People and society now could take videos and better picture in this update. -
Iphone 4
The Iphone 4 was released in 2010 with a new sleeker, modern look and a lot higher pixel count. It was the first Iphone to have a front facing camera, so now the ever popular selfie could now be taken. It was also the first phone to have some level of multitasking. -
Iphone 4S
The Iphone 4S was released in 2011. there wasn't much of an update in this one but on the software side it updated to 8 megapixels and Siri, which is such a major part in the modern day Iphone, the digital assistant, -
Iphone 5
The Iphone 5 was released in 2012. It updated to a taller screen with an extra row for apps. It had a lighter, aluminum casing. And on the IOS side of things, there was a new Apple maps, to replace google maps. People had a lighter phone and had more room for apps. -
Iphone 5C and 5S
There really weren't to many changes made, accept for the new touch ID and brighter app icons. People now could just use there finger to go into their phone instead of using a password. -
Iphone 6, 6S, and 6 Plus
The Iphone 6 and 6 plus came out in 2014, while the 6S came out in 2015. The Iphone 6 and 6S are almost identical. They extended to a 4.7 inch screen giving people and even bigger screen. There was also a huge upgrade in the camera, giving society even better selfies. The Iphone 6 Plus is an even bigger version of the 6, reaching to a 5.5 inch screen, it reached close to a mini tablet size. -
Iphone 7
The Iphone 7 was released in 2017. it came with a lot of new color, and it was "water resistant" . It was more protected from accidental spills and that helped a lot of people when they would accidentally dropped in the toilet or something. There was also a really good camera update. They also updated to a virtual home button, and instead of the normal headphone jack you had to use the charging port. A lot of people couldn't use their headphones anymore. -
Iphone 8
The Iphone 8 was released in 2017. The biggest difference from the last phone is the glass back, which is a lot different from the normal aluminum. It also has wireless charging because of the glass back. Now people don't have to worry about wires everywhere from chargers. -
Iphone x
The Iphone X was released on September 12th of 2017. Two of the biggest changes visibly is that the touchscreen goes from one edge to the other, and that there is now no home button. Another new feature is the face ID. It scans your face to unlock your phone instead of the normal password. These are huge changes that were made and it's gonna take a lot of people some getting used to.
