Paris is saved as French and British troops disrupt the Schlieffen Plan by launching a major counter-offensive against the invading German armies. Effect of America: America's uninvolved at this point but will later be brought into the situation. -

France and Britain
France and Britain declare war on the Ottoman Empire. Effects on America: One of the countries could try and form an alliance with America and they get involved. -
German Naval Base
The German Naval Base at Tsingtao is captured by the Japanese, aided by a British and Indian battalion. Effects on America: America could somehow be involved especially with alliances.
