The first Blu-ray Disc was created by the Blu-ray Disc Association, this company was a consortium of other companies like Sony. The Blu-ray Disc itself is a disk that can store several hours of high-quality/definition video. The disk also has the ability to hold 25 GB per layer and playback/rewrite. These disks often contained movies and games. The purpose of Blu-ray was to replace the standard DVD by adding better features. -
