    The invention of the MP3 was created by a group of industry experts named the Moving Picture Experts Group. What they did was come up with standards for audio encoding. There work took place at the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany. An engineer, Mr. Brandenburg was part of the team from the Institute and because of his contributions is known as the “father of the MP3”. This took place in 1992. Without the MP3 we would not be able to listen to music on our cell phones and other popular devices.

    In 1992 is when the first text message was sent by a former developer named Neil Papworth from Sema Group Telecoms. His message was sent to Richard Jarvis a director at Vodafone. The text said Merry Christmas. Papworth’s creation has changed everyday life because text messaging is one of the main forms of communication today.

    In 1993 the World Wide Web was created by Tim Berners-Lee. He was an engineer and scientist who agreed to build a global information system on a network known as the web. Today the web is an essential part of everyday life. Without this creation we would not be able to email, socialize through social networks, video conference, or google search something. It’s hard to believe that this technology has only been around for over a couple of decades.

    The largest search engine of all time Google was created in September 1998 by two Stanford University students Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Google gives people the tools to access information. Since 1998 Google has come a long way and offers other services as well. Services like Gmail, Google maps, and image search.
