Copernicus created a model of the solar system. Copernicus believed theat the sun what center of our Universe. He used this to explain that the sun was the center of the Universe and Earth wasn't. If this wan't created, many people would still think Earth was the center of the Universe. -
Thermometer
Galileo Galilei invented the thermometer. The thermometer is now called the Galileo Thermometer. It's important because it tells us what the temperature is. We would never know what the temperature is if we didn't have a thermometer. Thermometers also help meteorologists predict he weather. Different scientists can also use thermometers to study. -
Telescope
Galileo made his first telescope. This allowed people to see into space. The telescope lets you see the sky closer. Scientist can now tell us more details about our solar system. There are now many different telescopes that let you see different things. -
Newton's Laws of Motion
Isaac Newton invented the laws of motion. This is important because it explains why things react to a force. Newton published a book that explains all laws of motion. It was called the Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica. Newton wanted to tell people why things moved when a force acted upon it. He explained the different forces and why they cause motion. -

Marquis de L'Hôpital published the first calculus textbook. People can use a book to do calculus. This is easier because the book explains what calculus is. It won't be as hard to do calculus because of the textbook. -
Bifocal Glasses
Benjamin Franklin invented the bifocal glasses. They were invented so people wouldn't have to switch between two pairs of glasses. The glasses had a split horizontally in the middle so you can see what's near you and far away. These are good for people who need to see close up and far away. Bifocal glasses are still in use today. -
Sandwich
The sandwich was invented by John Montagu.This was a good invention because some people don't have enough time to make a full meal or go buy food. They could just put meat between two pieces of bread. They would at least have something to eat.
