Armistice request
On this day, German Chancellor, Max Von Baden, sends a telegraph message to the administration of President Woodrow Wilson in Washington DC, requesting an Armistice between Germany and The allies, to end the First World War.
Wilsons response made it clear that they would only deal with a democratic Germany, not an imperial state with an effective military dictatorship controlled by a supreme command. -
End of the First World War
At 11am on the 11th of November, 1918, the First World War ended. This day is now known as Armistice day - The day that Germany signed the Armistice (Peace Agreement). -
