  • Treaty of versailles

    After the 1st world war the big 3 signed the treaty at versailles. They set up the league of nations.

  • Saint Germain

    For austria.
    Army limited to 30,000 volunteers and no navy.
    The austro-hungarian empire was dismantled.

  • Neuilly

    For Bulgaria.
    Army limited to 20,000 volunteers and 4 terpedo boats.
    2.25 billion francs in reparations
    Land to yugoslavia, Greece and romania.

  • Trianon

    For Hungary
    Army limited to 35,00 volunteers and 3 patrol boats.
    200 million gold crowns in reparations.

  • Sevres

    For Turkey.
    Army limited to 50,000 soliders and 13 naval ships.
    Land given to Greece and Italy

  • Vilna

    This lithuanian capital was claimed by poland as the population at the time mainly consisted of mainly polish speakers.
    The league wanted polland as an ally so they did nothing but condem the actions. Damages reputation as they were not shown not to have the power to punish powerful agressors.

  • Upper silecia

    There was a plebecite to decide whether it would go to poland or germany. Germany won ,however the league still splitt it between the two because france did not want them to get too powerful.
    Shows the leauge was restricted by its members and baised towards their own intrests over anyone elses.

  • Washington naval conference

    Main aim was disarmament. Five power treat. FR BR US JP IT
    Limited naval power. not fully disamament and this is as far as it ever goes.
    Showed comon desire to achieve peace and improve relations.

  • Ruhr

    Frnace invaded the Ruhr when germany stopped paying reparations. Frnace started to run it.
    The league did nothing as france was a powerful member.

  • Manchuria

    Japan needed resources after the depression. Chinese sabataged the muckden railwat. japanese retaliated and conquered.
    China appealed to the leauge. After a year sanctions were made but they could still trade with the US and the sanctions dropped as br and fr needed the oil trade. Japan left the leuage.

  • Abyssinia

    There was a border dispute at wal wal and mussilini built up troops in colonies aound (somaliland). They then invaded and Abyssinia appealed to the leauge. They gave week sanctions and the hoare laval pact was put in place. (br and fr, let italy take 2/3).
    But it was exposed and then italy took the lot.
