    Separation of Texas

Liberals (federalists) and conservatives (centralists) entered to fight and turned the country upside down once again. Samuel Houston (1793 - 1863), one of the Texan leaders, organized a successful counterattack to the Álamo. López de Santa Anna, trusting his victory on that fort, went to rest to San Jacinto and understanding the rebels, did not take any precautions.
