The French and Indian war was over the territory in the New World. It was fought primarily between France and Britain. When Britain eventually won the war, they would not let the colonists, who fought a lot of the war, go into the territory they should've gained. Because of this, colonists began to revolt. This is important because it led to the beginning of the American Revolution and eventually the Declaration of Independence.
