The Flying Shuttle
The flying shuttle was invented by John Kay to make weaving fabrics much easier. The shuttle used to be passed from side to side making it take longer and more energy. A disadvantage is there are less jobs available, the flying shuttle only requires one person rather than two. -
The Spinning Jenny
The spinning jenny was created by James Hargreaves to spin more thread at once. The spinning jenny would spin 8 threads, the problem with this invention is the fabrics made were very thin and weak. -
The Steam Engine
The Steam Engine was created by Jams Watt to make engines much more powerful and efficient. The steam engine paved the way for many more inventions and innovations like this. This engine can be located anywhere because steam can be created right there but, it takes a while for it to start. The trains we see today is because of the steam engine. -
The Water Frame
The water frame was invented by Richard Arkwright to improve the spinning frame. The spinning frame created strong fabrics quickly but couldn't be powered by humans so Arkwright used water power. The machine produced fabric quickly but it put more people out of jobs because it didn't require any labor. -
The Spinning Mule
The spinning mule was invented by Samuel Compton so anyone using it would have better control over the machine. They could also use different types of yarn, but the spinning mule made families lose incomes if they worked from home. -
The Steam Locomotive
The steam locomotive was invented by George Stephenson to improve and advance transportation. The steam locomotive made it easier for people to get to where they need to go quicker but, it caused a lot of pollution. The steam locomotive is now the trains we see everyday. -
The Steam Locomotive: Innovation
The steam locomotive was innovated by George Stephenson after Richard Trevithick paved the way. After Trevithick gave up on the locomotive Stephenson stepped in to make it a reality. -
The Steam Boat
The steam boat was invented by Robert Fulton to improve water transportation. The steamboat helped carry cargo in ways trains couldn't. While the steamboat was very successful, they were hard t maintain because they were made out of iron and steel. -
Steel Production
Henry Bessemer made steel production cheaper. Cheaper steel production means there is more steel being made to use on other inventions. Steel can be found everywhere in today's world. -
Pasteurization
Pasteurization was created by Louis Pasteur to keep foods from expiring quickly. We still use pasteurization all the time today, but pasteurization can alter foods and some disagree with it -
The Light Bulb
The light bulb was created by Thomas Edison. The light bulb replaced having candle lights in many homes. The light bulb is still seen everywhere today. -
Electricity
Nikola Tesla invented electricity. Humans depend on electricity, the world would not be the same without it. A disadvantage to having electricity is we cannot always depend on it.
