Transcontinental Railroad
The Transcontinental Railroad is built by the Union Pacific and the Central Pacific. The ground in Sacramento was broken by the then governor to start the progress. The ground-breaking in Omaha occured on Dec. 2, 1863. The construction for the Central Pacific, in California, started on Oct.26, 1863. In Sacramento, they started building on Oct.26, 1863.
