    Assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand
    Archduke Ferdinand was invited to the Capital of Bosnia. Sarajevo when he was going through town a member of the terrorist group through a grenade at the arch duke but the driver saw the flying object and sped up enough and the archduke and his wife survived. on the way back to the hotel the driver took a wrong turn and on that street was Gavrilo Princip another member of the group who pulled out this pistol and shot the archduke and his wife Sophie and killed them both.
  • Germany Invades Belgium

    Germany declared war on France and to avoid the French bases along the French-German border the troops had to cross Belgium and attack the French. Which brought Great Britain into the war because Belgium and Great Britain had an alliance that Germany did not know about.

The disaster immediately strained relations between Germany and the neutral United States. the Germans did this even after the United States warned them that actions would be taken if a United States boat or citizens of the US died.

    The Battle of Verdun was fought from 21 February to 18 December 1916 the longest battle of the war was fought on the western front between the German and French armies. Lasting 6 months and being the bloodiest battle of the whole was with the end fatalities being 600,000 total
