Pequot War
While the Puritans towns were growing, settlers needed more land, food, etc. This meant that competition increased for the important resources with the Native Americans around, especially with the Pequot. 1637 was the date that Connecticut attacked the Pequot. They killed and/or captured the Pequot and in 1638, they'd defeated the Pequot. -

After Massasoit, died, his song, Metacomet(King Phillip) Became king. Phillips father had become friends with the pilgrims, and after he'd died, the colonists started to take over the land after they'd been friends with the prior king. This is what started King Phillip's War. -
