"That is nonsense. If I marry a charming girl like Gwendolen and she is the only girl I ever saw in my life that I would marry, I certainly won't want to know Bunbury." This shows us that Jack would want a wife and stay by her all the time take her with him everywhere he goes and make her happy.

Jack compliments Gwendolen a lot and she replies "yes, I'm quite well aware of the fact." She loves getting attention but sheis very spoiled and definitely acts like it.

She is willing to marry Jack because of his name so this shows us here that she's see's marriage as getting something unique from other girls in this case it is for the name Earnest. Gwendolen's basic view on marriage is being a union she could enjoy and she would want to be treated formally like good dresses and blowing kisses and all that stuff.

Lady Bracknell

pardon me, you are not engaged to anyone. when you do become engaged to someone, I or your father, should his health permit him, will inform you of the fact." Lady Bracknell is a very old tradition where she thinks the parents should choose their kid's partners if their kids agree or not.

Algy has found someone that has changed his views on marriage. Now he sees it as he needs her because he can't pitcher his life without her. She he sees it as an honor to marry her.

Like first he that once you are married the romance is dead and now he wants nothing but to please Cecily and he would do anything for her to make her happy.
