The Monroe Doctrine was made to make sure that the americas would stay the americas. They wanted to stop European expansion and they would defend any of the countries against the europeans. -

These wars were between china and britain. The cause of the wars was that china was trying to stop the trade of opium. Britain had been exporting opium from india to china since early 18th century, this caused heavy addiction in china and many other problems. -

The U.S. government signed the treaty and this treaty opened the ports of shimoda and Hakodate for U.S trade, this treaty also formed U.S consulate in japan. -

This was made after the Monroe Doctrine and this was made to make sure that the europeans didn't try to expand in the americas. The United states was like the police man and would defend it. -

This war was between the boers and great britain. the boers lived in the orange free state next to great britain. They lived in peace, but the discovery of diamonds and gold were found in the region they lived in caused a lot of conflict between the 2 which caused the war to start. -
Boxer Rebellion
This rebellion was brought up by a secret chinese organization, called the society of the righteous and Harmonious fists, They wanted to rebel because they wanted to stop japanese and western influence of china. -
Panama canal built
Franklin D. Roosevelt saw that if he built this canal it would help the U.S. long term. British and us officials wanted to trade fast this helped them accomplish that.
