The Ethiopian Empire was the only native African independent state. They gained the Firts Italo-Ethiopian War, but they were defeated after the Second Italo-Ethiopian War (1934), and Ethiopia became an italian colony. -

Boers Republics (Free Orange State and Transvaal Republic) were formed by the Dutch Republic in South Africa. Britain tried to conquer the Republics. Boers gained First Boer War, but they were defeated in the Second Boer War, althought they were given a certain level of liberty. -
Algeciras Conference
Wilhelm II, the German Emperor, had spoken in favour of Moroccan independence, but in this conference, Frenck control over Morocco was confirmed. Later, Morocco became an Hispano French Protectorate.
