The Start
The first time one eats an allergen, an Ige antibody is made. An outward reaction is not seen until the allergen is introduced again to the body. -
The preparation
The Ige antibody attaches itself to cells in the tissues in the cells of the body. The body is prepared to react when the allergen enters the body again. -
The Second Encounter
The allergen is encountered by the body again. -
The Response
The body sends out Ige antibodies to attack the allergen. -
The Reaction
The Ige antibodies send out signals for the body to release histamine. This causes irritation and swelling, an alergic reaction.
