Person eats allergen for the first time. -

An IgE antibody is formed, and it attatches itself to cells found in the tissues in cells all over the body. The body is now prepared for that allergen to enter the body again. -
Step 3
Person eats the allergen again! -
Step 4
Allergens bind to the IgE antibodies. -
Step 5
Signals are sent throughout the body to produce a large abount of histamine, compounds that trigger immune responses. -
Step 6
Irritation and swelling in parts of the body occurs, also known as an allergic reaction.
