    This was a peacy treaty signed between America and Mexico. This ended the Mexican and American War.

  • Coolie Act

    This act was in play to protect free white labor against Chinese Coolie labor
  • Burlingame Treaty

    This treaty established friendly relations between the United States and China
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    First major exclusion act to restrict immigration into the U.S
  • Dillingham Commission

    This commission made immigrants of southern and eastern Europe take a reading and writing test to help keep undesired immigrants out of the U.S resulting in a decreased ammount of immigrants.
  • Immigration Act of 1917

    This act restriced immigration from Asia and created the Asiatic Barred Zone.
  • Emergency Quota Act

    This quota was the first quota to be required for all nationalities, it made sure that the level of permitted immigration from a certain nationality were the same population of that nationality living in the United States in 1910.
  • Alien Registration Act

    This act requires fingerprinting and registration of aliens in the United States.
  • Magnusun Act

    This act was the Chinese exclusion repeal act, this was the first time Chinese immigration was allowed since 1882
