A diplomatic or consular officer can refuse any visa to an individual they suspect of having the intentions to harm the U.S. and endager society. -

This act legalized illegal aliens who lived in the U.S since January 1, 1982. It also prohibited employers from hiring and recruting illegal aliens. -

Allowed the Department of Homeland Security to gain control over the border and maritime border. The act evaluated the construction of a physical barrier. -
SB 1070 Passes
Required police officers to determine the immigration status of someone arrested or detained when there was “reasonable suspicion” they were not in the U.S. legally. -
DACA Announced
Allows certain individuals who came to the U.S as a child and meet several guidelines the ability to request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal. They are also eligible for work authorization
