    Moving to America
I moved from Ireland to America. I had traveled with no family or husband. I traveled on a boat with many other Irish citizens and other ethnicities from europe. I had made it to America about a month and a half later. It took many hours for me to get through Ellis Island. After I got through Ellis Island i went around the city looking for any place i could stay. I found a hotel for the next week then after i had searched for homes to rent or buy. I had found a small town house in the city.
  • A job in New England

    A job in New England
I earned a job after years of settling into America. The job I had gotten was very hard working and hadn't payed much money. It was located in a Factory for cotton. We had long tough days and if you messed up one little thing, you got money taken away from your daily pay.I hadn't had much time to ever really practice any religion unless it was on a sunday. Sundays were the only days we ever got off because it was a day meant for family, religion, and rest.

I had Heard about Free land given out to People in The West and decided it was time to move on from New England. I traveled by train each night and day. It took a while for me to make it all the way to my destination in California. When I made it to California, I had met many people to help me get around. Later through that year I had gotten married and started a family. We lived on a farm with many animals and crops.

After growing our new crops, they had been very successful this time. They were sold very fast and had been very popul;ar during the time. Selling so many crops made me and my family very rich. After years of selling the crops, we had left california and moved torward Oregon and Washington to start more of a business.
