African slaves were brought to America to work for the settlers in Jamestown on their crops. -
Indian complaints
The Indians had filed a complaint against the Engish settlers, hoping for King Phillip to follow through with promises given in treaties, but the English fought against the Indians and took over their land. -
Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin was a racist. He dispised all races except for whites. He catagorized each race with whites at the top and blacks at the bottom. -

The Naturalization Act was estblished to allow good standing white people to apply for citizenship in the US. -

This act was revised by President Roosevelt to require would-be citizens to learn the English language. -

This act was geared to women. If they married a man of another nationality, they list their citizendship to the US until the marriage it terminated. -
Emergency Quota Law
This act was established to limit the number of aliens into the US. -
Johnson-Reed Act
This act limited the amount of immigrants into the US by the national quota. -
Establishing the Border Patrol
The border patrol was fist established to help with the inspection stations between the borders. -
McCarren-Walter Act
This act officially ended the ban of Asians. It also refined the citizenship laws and had a more refined way of establishing citizenship. -
Immigration Reform and Control Act
This is the first federal law to punish employers with undocumented illegal aliens and provided sanctuary for illegal aliens that were already in the US. -
Patriot Act
This act was established after the terroists attacks on 9/11. This allows the government to do searches on homes, phone records, etc without a search warrant or the acknowledgment of the owner. -
Arizona Immigration Law SB1070
This law allowed law enforcement to question Mexicans about their citizenship. There are also enforced state penalties if immigration laws are not followed. -
Obama Immigration Reform plan
Obama makes announcement to provide amnesty to parents of US citizens and legally documented aliens to stay in the US temporarily.
