This was a an immigration checkpoint for europeans entering the country. This also helped with registering everyone entering the U.S. so it cut down on illegal immigration to the U.S. at the time. -

It opened to ultimately control the immigration flow of Chinese into the U.S. This like Ellis Island helped with cutting down on illegal immigration into the actual U.S. because immigrants were allowed to go through customs. -
Alien Land Law
This was begun by California and would later became a template for other states trying to get rid of illegal pr non-illegal immigrantds. This basically stated that immigrants to california, mostly chinese and Japanese, could not get citizenship in the U.S. -

This forcebly sent thousands of Japanese citizens to Internment Camps. This was because of what happened to Pearl Harbor so this caused panic in the U.S. and prejudice started to begin toward people of Japanese desent. So this severely cut down on immigration of Japanese into the U.S. -

This made it more difficult for illegal immigrants to find a job within the U.S. because they did not have the required documentation. This also tried to cut down on foreign migration to the U.S. be making it hard for them to make money here. -
World Trade Centers Terrorist Attack
This even was detrimental to the U.S. psyche and was an extremely emotional day for the U.S. It changed the people and the ideas of everyone in and around the U.S. A major thing that came out of this was the ramping up of the U.S. customs and the border patrol. This happened to stop illegal terrorists and illegal immigrants from entering the U.S. because everyone was paranoid about a terrorist attack happening again. -
Secure Fence Act Signed
This allowed for a fence to be built along the south western border of the U.S. to stop illegal immigration. It also called to ramp up border patrol and customs to be more firm against undocumented immigrants. -
SB 1070 Signed
It bascically made it a state crime to be an illegal immigrant in the U.S. It also brought about huge racial profiling by police and citizens of Arizona. it is the toughest immigration law signed to date
