The Konw Nothing Party was a politcial groups in the United States that was founded in the 1840's and ended in the 1950's. They became more known in 1955 when their ideas on stopping immigration became more known. -

Elli Island
Ellis island was the point where new immigrant would come to America to become a citizen. The island is located in New York nest to the statue of liberty. This location gave the new immigrants a sense of hope for a new life. -

This act passed the law that allowed the national government to restrict the immigration into the United States. This act is also know as the anarchist exclusion act, which allowed the gorvenment to deny citizenship to a person based off of the politcal beliefs. -

Due to the mass hysteria the American felt toward the influx of Japanese and Chinese immigrants, California passed a law restricting land ownership. If someone was not a citizen they were unable to purchase land, if you were of asian decent it was even harder to recieve land. -
