    restricted citizenship to free white people living in the U.S. for two years

  • 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act

    excluded Chinese people from coming to the U.S, because they were seen as a threat

  • 1924 Immigration Act

    limited the number of immigrants allowed to come from certain countries each year

  • 2000 Bring Them Home Alive Act

    allows refugees status to those involved in the American Vietnam War or the American Korean War

  • 2006 Secure Fence Act

    gave DHS control over the United States-Mexico border (ex: physical barriers, enforced security)
