    The king of France sponsored roughly 800 young women who were sent to New France where they were married to the citizens in an effort to increase the population of New France.

    The american revolution caused many of the British loyalists to flee to Canada since it was friendly with Britain.

    The influx of famine refugees caused strain on the local resources of Toronto and as well as a strain on the inhabitants of Toronto because of the sheer amount of people showing up.

    The victory for the allies and Canada's involvement in that victory made more want to immigrate to Canada but those from the countries that were enemies were not given the right t vote

    World War 2 furthered Canada's position and strengthened it's economy. Many immigrants from the countries that were enemies in the war were victims of racism even if they were present before the war.
