It had a 76 m high scoria cone, beside a 100 m wide crater, before they were quarried away. It was the site of a pā.Only a hole remains. -

Closure of community ancestral river, Oruarangi River, reduced to a creek after oxidation ponds which brought the smell of sewage and plague of midges after heavy rain or sun. -

SHA62 is planned to have 480 new houses built on land that may have burial sites underneath as well as Lava caves. Hand built stone walls may also be destroyed - part of heritage. -
