Reaping Day
Katniss volunteers to taker her sister's place as a tribute in the Hunger Games. Katniss then says goodbye to her family and close friends and boards a train to the Capitol. -

First Day of Training
Katniss and Peeta are introduced to the training equipment and become familiar with the skills they will need. -

Second Day of Training
Peeta and Katniss continue to practice their skills. Peeta points out to Katniss Rue, an important character later in the story. -

Private Sessions
On the third day of training, the tributes are required to show their best skills to the Gamemakers. The Gamemakers will then grade them on a scale of 1-12. When they announced Katniss score of 11, she gained popularity and thus more sponsors. -

Televised Interviews
After being coached on what to say and how to gain sponsors, Katniss and Peeta are ready for the televised interviews that take place before the Hunger Games begin. This is when Peeta expresses his feelings to the public for Katniss. -

The Hunger Games Begin
Katniss immediately grabs a backpack with useful supplies and rushes into the woods. That night, she learns that Peeta has teamed up with the Careers. The Careers are tributes who have trained for the Hunger Games. -

Hunt for Water
After an entire day of searching for water, Katniss climbs up into a tree and sleeps for the night. The next day, Katniss successfully finds water and fills up her water bottle. -

Fire
To raise the level of entertainment and action, the Gamemakers unleash a fire on the trees surrounding Katniss. As she runs away, fireballs are shot at her. Although she was able to evade most of them, one left a severe burn on her leg. -

Tracker Jackers
As Katniss soothes her leg in a pool, the Careers find her and start to chase her. Because of her climbing ability, Katniss is able to escape into a tree. The Careers camp out at the tree. WIth the help of Rue, Katniss drops a nest of tracker jackers on the Careers. As she escapes, Katniss manges to retrieve a bow and arrows. -

The Alliance
Katniss forms an alliance with Rue. They start planning to destroy the Careers' food supply. -

Boom!
Katniss blows up the career tributes' food supply. However, she loses hearing in one ear in the process. -

Saying Goodbye
Katniss regains hearing in one ear. On her way back to Rue's meeting point, Katniss finds Rue attacked. Katniss sings Rue a song as she says goodbye. -

The Announcement
Claudius Templesmith announces that two tributes from a District can win the Hunger Games. -

Reuniting District 12
After the announcement is made, Katniss finds Peeta and treats his wounds. They spend the night in a cave. -

The Feast
A feast with special supplies taking place at the Cornucopia is announced. Risking her life to save Peeta's, Katniss goes after the bag for District 12. There she is attacked by Clove. Thresh deals with CLove and apsre's Katniss' life because of Rue. -

Hunting
After Peeta and Katniss treat their wounds and run out of food, they decide to go hunting. Because of his poor hunting abilities, Peeta picks berries. Not knowing that he grabbed poisonous berries, he sets them down in the reach of another tribute. Out of hunger, the tribute quicky eats all the berries. Now Katniss and Peeta are left with Cato, District 2's career. -

The Muttations
As Katniss and Peeta make their way to the lake, muttations that look like wild dogs trap them and Cato on the Cornucopia. -

Cornucopia
Cato threatens to kill Peeta if Katniss hurts him. Peeta motions for Katniss to shoot an arrow at Cato's hand. She does. Cato immediately releases Peeta and is knocked off the Cornucopia and into the grasps of the muttations. -

The Last Two Standing
Another announcement is made saying that the earlier revisions has been cancelled. Katniss and Peeta would be forced to fight each other. Instead, they each take a handful of poisonous berries and slowly raise their hands to their mouth. Before anything happens, another announcement names both Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen as the winners of the Hunger Games. -

Going Home
Katniss and Peeta attend the televised interviews that take place after the hunger games before boarding the train back to District 12. During the travel back, Katniss expresses her feelings to Peeta. Finally they arrive back in District 12.
