Campaign to end hunting of seals
HSUS secured pledges from hundreds of thousands of people and thousands of store to boycott Canadian seafood and many more have joined the Protect Seals campaign by 2014. -
End Dogfighting in Chicago
The HSUS started a Chicago project to stop street dogfighting by hiring reformed dogfighters as Anti-Dogfighting Advocates. -
Food Policies
Burger King announced that it will become the first major U.S. restaurant chain to begin phasing in cage-free eggs and gestation crate-free pork. This decision rippled through the industry, and HSUS discussions subsequently led dozens more major food companies to adopt similar policies. -
Farm Animals Protection
After years of opposition to one another, HSUS and the United Egg Producers agree to jointly lobby for federal legislation protecting animals on farms, which would make the use of barren battery cages to confine hens illegal in all 50 states, among other improvements. -
